THE DELTA EDUCATION AND LIFE DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INCORPORATED (DELDF) is a non-profit 501(c)3 public service and community organization.
The purpose of DELDF is to secure and distribute funds that promote and support public service programs initiated by the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life of our diverse community through education, cultural enrichment, and social well being.
As Chairperson of DELDF, on behalf of the Board of Directors and members, I would like to thank you, our supporters, for making the past two years a remarkable success. Our collaborative efforts have afforded us the opportunity to provide service to 2,233 youths, and award $187,000.00 in scholarships to deserving high school and college students in Broward County.
Additionally, as a result of your generosity, we were able to support educational programs that promote literacy, and distributed 6,700 FREE books to children preschool through eighth grade. High school students were showcased for their scholastic achievements at a community program, and a college and career fair was held for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. High school students were also given the opportunity to participate in a series of college readiness workshops, providing assistance with SAT/ACT prep, FAFSA preparation, scholarship application and essay writing, followed by a First Generation Panel Discussion.
Through other program initiatives, cultural enrichment and mentoring activities were provided for young men and young women that were designed to enhance and promote self-efficacy and STEM skills.
DELDF is a resource for the Broward County community, offering transformative programs and impactful mentorships. Therefore, our goal is to increase our donor base, expand our outreach, strengthen our fundraising efforts, and be recognized as the “S.O.U.L. of Broward”, offering Service, Outreach, Uplift and Leadership as we continue to make a positive impact in the community.
